East meets West...our time together in Asia
Having a long distance relationship requires a lot of patience, endurance and our faith in our one & only God who had kept both of us through this relationship, even into the pandemic when the world decided to lock its international borders & close all human connections.
Thankfully, the borders reopen end of 2022 and Matthew was able to travel to Asia together with his Mom for the purpose of meeting & marrying his bride-to-be. It was their 1st trip ever to Asia, and having flown for about 24-30 hours almost across the globe...

Signing of our Marriage
Matthew & I registered our marriage legally in Singapore on 24 March 2023 at Bethesda Hall Depot Walk assembly.
Our marriage minister, Mr Andrew Kwan, who is also an elder at Bethesda Hall Depot Walk assembly, helped us officiate the registration, witnessed by our mother, Mrs Beverly Ann McShane and another church elder, Mr Dennis Loh.
Before the registration, we had to be present at the Registry of Marriages (ROM), Singapore the day before on 23 March 2023 for the Verification of Documents & Statutory Declaration (VDSD). There was a bit of travelling for both Matt & his Mom before they could even settled down after their long haul journey :) However, we are so thankful to the Lord for sustaining them both throughout the time they were here.

Getting Ready....
Kelly Make-Up Studio came to our Air BnB to get me ready for my big day, they did splendid job to make me look as I am....
When we say "I do" before God
After we were legally married in Singapore on 24 March 2023, we flew back to Penang on the day itself to rest before our church ceremony. Though it's a tiring week for us, it's worth it because Matt & his Mom got to see & step into Singapore too, besides Malaysia.
Our wedding ceremony was held the next day on 25 March 2023 at Burmah Road Gospel Hall, Penang, Malaysia where we both exchange our vows solemnly before God. Our church elder, Mr Lee Kim Seong assisted us with our marriage vows before our God. We are so grateful to the many helpers especially the AV team at church who stepped in to help us put together this wedding, although they had not met Matt, this unity in Christ really moved him...
Our Wedding Luncheon
All our guests were treated to luncheon at the back of the church hall, catered by Manila Place. It was a very hot afternoon and we decided to contain everyone in the air-conditioned Agape Hall.
Throughout luncheon, our best-man and a very good friend of Matthew said a few words before we proceed with the cake cutting ceremony. Matt & I then shared to our guests our love story and a bit of ourselves. We also had a photo booth at the back of the dining hall where our friends had also taken some shots with us, capturing memories...
